To David Durio's Family and Loved Ones,

I was a new young staff working with David at Coopers & Lybrand during the early 80's; Dave was one of my supervisors.  He was a good friend and mentor and I feel blessed that he touched my life when I was starting my career.  One evening, after a particularly tough day at work more than 25 years ago, David bumped into me waiting at a rainy bus stop in San Francisco.  He could tell I was feeling down on my luck.  He was quick with a smile and encouraged me to stick with it.  Those words of encouragement stuck with me and I thought about them often over the many years since I last saw him.

I know I am only one of many people that David helped during his lifetime and I feel lucky to have known him.  My prayers are with you on the passing of this fine man.

My family and I knew David as a brother and an Uncle to Navin and Necia. We know how much he meant to you and share in your sorrow for the loss but join you in rejoicing with the knowledge in knowing that "he won" ......and he always set high standards for himself and those he touched and cared about. May God continue to bless us all as we give Praise to his Name.

My wish for the family of David:

Where there is pain, I wish you peace and mercy;

Where there is self doubting, I wish you a renewed confidence in your ability to work through it;

Where there is tireness, or exhaustion, I wish you understanding, patience and renewed strenght;

Where there is fear, I wish you love, and courage.

Isaiah 41:10 states: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

There is only one god, and David is with him.  It gives me great pleasure to have been a small part of the Durio family, and I am so grateful to have met and talked to David, because he was always cheerful and had a beautiful personality.  So Lord Jesus Christ, through the intercession of Mary, your Mother, remember in your loving mercy, David Durio.
